1. The Concept
The concept of “China Restaurant Week ” is inspired by “New York Restaurant Week”. In 1998, the New York State Division of Tourism was entitled as one of the first launchers of restaurant week to promote local catering industry to the tourists from all around the world. And then this activity was extended to places such as Europe, South America and Singapore. And the targeting consumer group is also expanded to all the foodies from merely tourists.
China Restaurant Week is held in several cities every March & September. This time, this activity will be held in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, and Hangzhou at the same time.
This year, more functions will be employed by the DiningCity APP which is always keeping up with the trend of life service industry to provide more convenient services for users. Users could check their bookings through DiningCity or the APP. If there are available seats in the restaurants on users’ wish list, a warm reminder will prompt. Hence, users could make reservations in time. The exclusive concept-“Off-peak” is promoted by the APP: a corresponding discount will be given if you enjoy the meal during off-peak hours. This is a win-win strategy for both restaurants and users. In addition, China Restaurant Week will also be launched in the APP.
As the sponsor of China Restaurant Week for continuous 9 times, one of the world top online guide DiningCity has accumulated a great popularity in China and become the indicator of the dining industry. This activity also attracts the attendance of many famous media such as Whenever and the substantial support of well-known brands including S.Pellegrino.
DiningCity, together with Citibank, will hold the 10th China Restaurant Week from the 23th of March to 9th of Apr. This is the second time they cooperate with each other to establish this grand occasion. Approximately 400 top restaurants are going to attend this activity and an incomparable feast of taste will be presented.

3. Booking system
On 22th March 2017, 10am, sharp the real-time booking system will open on www.restaurantweek.cn. Here you can browse the special menus of the participating restaurants and decide which restaurant you want to book.
IMPORTANT: you unfortunately cannot book by calling the restaurant directly – only bookings made through our booking system are valid. You will receive a confirmation of your booking on the email address and mobile number provided, and all the reservations can be checked in your own DiningCity membership account as well, all you need to do is telling the name to restaurant when you go, then they can find out all the information in the system easily.
We will celebrate the end of Restaurant Week Spring Edition 2017 by handing out several awards and certificates of excellence to outstanding restaurants and host Restaurant Week Winner Edition only for winning restaurants. Both guests and critics are involved in rating the restaurants for these.
